Alora Ceramic Nutcracker With Stocking
Hand-Painted Ceramic | Standing 42cm | Holding a Stocking
The tallest of the Alora nutcrackers, and the one that anchors the group. Forty-two centimetres of glazed ceramic in full ceremonial dress, a striped stocking held in both hands as though he has just been handed it and is not entirely sure what to do next.
Ceramic gives him a weight and a stillness that moulded resin never manages — he sits properly on a hearth, a hall table or a wide windowsill and holds the eye for the whole of December. The painting is done by hand, so no two are identical in the smaller details.
Dimensions:
13 x 11 x 42cm
Ceremonial. Substantial. Quietly comic.
